Yet if you devote your heart to him
and stretch out your hands to him,
if you put away the sin that is in your hand
and allow no evil to dwell in your tent,
then you will lift up your face without shame;
you will stand firm and without fear
you will surely forget your trouble,
recalling it only as waters gone by.
Life will be brighter than noonday,
and darkness will become like morning.
You will be secure, and because there is hope;
you will look about you and
take your rest in safety.
You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid,
and many will court your favor.
-Job 11:13-19

When You Don’t Understand
“The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.”
-Luke 18:34
Sometimes we read of or are impressed with something that is beyond our understanding. Most often than not, we take it as if it’s some mystery case that is for us to solve. And so, as if our fact-finding prowess is enough, we dig into that which confuses us without considering the fact that yes, we will find Him when we seek Him with all of our heart (Jeremiah 29:13), but sometimes, seeking Him means waiting on Him with our hearts fixed on the hope that He will reveal Himself to us in His appointed time.
When you don’t understand, maybe it’s because you’re not supposed to just yet. Timing is everything and His timing is always perfect!
I’d rather have it Your way
“Teach me your way, O Lord,
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.”
-Psalm 86:11-
There is no wisdom apart from Yours. If I was meant to do just that, then I’d have to go no further. Because to do what is right and just is more acceptable to you than sacrifice (Prov 21:3), I’m sticking to the game plan.
I’d rather have it Your way.
You Said, You Would, and Soon It Shall Come to Pass
“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
-2 Peter 3:8-9
The Promise-Giver is a Promise-Keeper.

Discipline
No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening–it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
